HAND BUILDING COURSES IN THE HAGUE
Hand building means shaping clay with your hands, without a potter's wheel. It is a relaxing and mindful way of making pottery, with plenty of room for creativity. In our 7-week hand building courses at our studio in Scheveningen, The Hague, you learn the techniques from experienced teachers who are professional potters themselves. Once you have mastered the basics, you create pieces of your own design.
HAND BUILDING COURSES FOR BEGINNERS
In our hand building courses for beginners you learn the basic techniques: pinch pots, coiling and working with small slabs, and glazing in the last class. With these you make a wide variety of pieces, from miniatures to cups and bowls, or small and medium-sized decorative pieces such as vases, lamp bases and flowerpots. Hand building is calming, accessible and a very creative form of pottery.
HAND BUILDING COURSES FOR ADVANCED
Our popular advanced hand building course on Tuesday evenings is for experienced students only. You should be familiar with pinching, coiling and slab techniques. Never taken a hand building course? Start with a course for beginners or all levels. In this course the teacher works with special techniques and themes, and with three different types of clay. She helps you plan and create complex projects.
HAND BUILDING COURSES FOR ALL LEVELS
In our hand building courses for all levels, beginners and more experienced students work in the same class, each on their own projects. Beginners learn the basic techniques, while experienced students make larger or more complex pieces. Everyone gets personal attention from an experienced teacher, and you learn a lot from each other.
