WHEEL THROWING COURSES IN THE HAGUE
Learn the legendary craft of pottery on the potter's wheel at our studio in Scheveningen, The Hague. Our 7-week wheel throwing courses are taught by experienced teachers who are professional potters themselves, in small groups of up to 8 students. The classes suit a range of skill levels, from beginners to advanced. Pottery is great fun and very relaxing. To get the most out of it, you need patience and lots of practice.
WHEEL THROWING COURSES FOR BEGINNERS
Our wheel throwing courses for beginners are for people with no experience of working with clay, or only a little. You learn the basic skills of pottery on the potter's wheel: wedging, centring, throwing small pots and shaping them into cups and bowls, decoration techniques (sgraffito, carving) and glazing in the last class. By the end of the course you have made several small functional and/or decorative pieces. After the final firing they are ready for pickup 2 to 3 weeks later.
WHEEL THROWING COURSES FOR ADVANCED
Already feel at home at the potter's wheel? In our advanced wheel throwing course you take the next step, guided by a professional potter. The course is for students who can centre and throw a basic cylinder on their own.
You learn to throw with larger amounts of clay (up to 1 kg), shape tall vases and wide bowls, make lids and handles, and work on more complex ceramic projects such as lamp bases. Bring your own ideas: your teacher helps you develop them step by step.
Develop your own style and technique in a small group at our pottery studio in Scheveningen, The Hague.
POTTERY COURSES FOR ALL LEVELS
In our wheel throwing courses for all levels, beginners 1 (first course) & 2 (follow-up) and advanced students work on their own projects in the same class. It's a great way to get inspired and learn from each other. Beginners work on the basic skills, while students with experience improve their technique and make vases, lidded pots or candlesticks. Everyone gets personal attention from an experienced teacher.
